Cambodia has initiated a trial period for its new “e-Arrival Card” system at Siem Reap Airport. This innovative program replaces traditional paper forms and is designed to improve the entry experience for both visitors and citizens alike.
On July 01, 2024, Cambodia will introduce a new e-immigration process. This will replace the current paper immigration process. All arrivals into Cambodia must complete the e-immigration application before proceeding to the immigration counter upon arrival. No paper immigration documents will be accepted. To complete the e-Arrival Card, visit https://arrival.gov.kh/
This does not replace visa requirements for Cambodia. A visa is still required. This replaces the previous paper forms that required the completion of immigration formalities and customs declarations.
E-Immigration Process
- Every person entering Cambodia will be required to complete the online e-immigration application.
- The e-arrival card replaces the paper immigration form, health form, and customs declaration, designed to make the arrival process streamlined and convenient.
- This can be completed by using the e-immigration app (please see more details below).
- The e-immigration must be completed within 7 days prior to arrival. Travelers cannot register outside of 7 days of arrival.
- If this is not completed prior to arrival, travelers will be required to complete this on one of the tablets provided in the arrivals hall before they approach the immigration counter.
- Please note that the questions asked on the online application are the same as those previously asked on the paper immigration form.
- There is no charge for the e-arrival immigration process.
E-Immigration App
- This can be downloaded from the app store (Google Play or iOS App Store) or via the website https://arrival.gov.kh/
- Travelers will need to first register on the app or website.
- Travelers can also apply for an e-visa on arrival through this app. Travelers can still apply for an e-visa in advance of 7 days or still obtain a visa on arrival.
There are a number of steps to complete on the application:
- Register. This will require travelers to take a face pic and passport page pic in the app or upload a photo and passport pic on the website.
- Select whether to get an e-VOA. If YES is selected, they will pay for and collect the visa on arrival. We recommend getting an e-visa separately and not via the app or using the Fast Track Visa service.
- Enter the date of Arrival / Date of Departure. The Date of Departure does not need to be accurate to the planned itinerary as long as it is at some stage in the future and past the date they are expected to depart.
- Complete Travel Purpose (Tourism), mode of transport from options, type of transport from options, airline and flight number.
- Complete accommodation type from options. Only the name and city of the hotel are required. The full address is not required. E.g., Jaya House River Park Hotel, Siem Reap.
- Complete embarkation city / next city fields.
- Complete the health declaration.
- Complete the customs declaration.
- Important: a QR code will appear at the end of submitting all the information. Travelers should take a screenshot of this. The QR is also retrievable on the app without a connection to the internet.
Important Things to Consider
- Fast Track Visa service on arrival is still available; however, travelers will still need to complete the e-immigration arrival either online or via the app before arrival or with assistance from the immigration officer, who facilitates the fast track visa on arrival using the tablets provided in the arrivals hall.
- A reminder that the e-arrival immigration can only be processed within 7 days before arrival, no earlier.
- Travelers should have the e-arrival QR code saved on their phone. This will not be scanned, as their details are all in the system; however they may be asked to show this.
