Upon arrival at Beijing International Airport, meet our guide, who will escort you to your hotel, where you will check in and relax. Take this time to unwind or start exploring Beijing at your own pace.

Day 2 |EXPLORE BEIJING (FRIDAY)

Start your day with breakfast before we journey into Beijing's historical heart. Begin at the monumental Tiananmen Square, a vast expanse rich with historical significance. As we stroll through the square, we encounter landmarks such as the impressive Great Hall of the People and the poignant Monument to the People's Heroes, each telling stories of joy and turbulence. Continuing our exploration, we delve into the majestic Forbidden City, a palace complex of epic proportions where emperors once held court. Day 4 | HIGHSPEED TRAIN TO XIAN (SUNDAY)

Upon arrival, we will visit the Small Wild Goose Pagoda, an architectural gem from the Tang Dynasty known for its intricate design and significance as a Buddhist temple. This well-preserved structure offers a glimpse into the grandeur of ancient Buddhist architecture and its enduring legacy.

Day 5 | TERRACOTTA WARRIORS AND XIAN'S MUSLIM QUARTER (MONDAY)

Today's excursion unveils a significant chapter in China's history as we delve into one of the world's most remarkable archaeological discoveries—the Terracotta Warriors of Xi'an. Discovered accidentally in 1974 by local farmers digging a well, this site showcases an array of meticulously crafted sculptures depicting soldiers, chariots, and horses intended to accompany China's first emperor into the afterlife. Each warrior varies in rank, posture, height, uniform, and facial features, contributing to the awe-inspiring spectacle. It is believed that thousands of warriors and hundreds of horses and chariots still lie buried in three adjoining pits, making the Terracotta Army an unparalleled marvel. In the afternoon, explore the Great Mosque and the bustling streets of the Muslim Quarter, a vibrant district known for its rich blend of Islamic culture and tantalizing street food. Day 6 | XI'AN TO CHONGQING - YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE BEGINS (TUESDAY)

This historic destination offers a window into China's past, with its name rooted in the region's renowned porcelain production during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Upon arrival, we explore the town's rich cultural heritage before embarking on our Yangtze River cruise in the evening. The Yangtze River, stretching an impressive 3,915 miles, stands as Asia's longest river, with the segment between Chongqing and Yichang renowned for its breathtaking scenery. As we navigate through this picturesque stretch, we are treated to the majestic sight of the Three Gorges carving their way through the mountainous landscape, leaving behind a trail of natural wonder. Tonight, we settle into our accommodations aboard the Century Paragon, enjoying the comfort of our deluxe cabin as we prepare for the adventures that await along the Yangtze River.

Day 7 | YANGTZE RIVER WONDERS (WEDNESDAY)

Today promises a serene journey as we continue our cruise along the tranquil waters of the Yangtze River. Embrace the leisurely pace of river life as we soak in the scenic beauty surrounding us. Take the shore excursion to Fengdu's Ghost City, known for its ghost culture and integration of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism with diverse Chinese traditions. In the evening, those seeking entertainment can consider the optional The War Fire of Three Kingdoms Show (sign up and pay onboard). Indulge in delicious meals served on board throughout the day, including lunch and dinner. Please note that the itinerary is subject to change based on river conditions. As the day draws to a close, retire to the comfort of your deluxe cabin aboard the Century Paragon, anticipating the adventures ahead.

Day 8 | THROUGH THE GORGES AND STREAMS (THURSDAY)

Today marks a highlight of our cruise as we navigate through the breathtaking Qutang and Wu gorges, where sheer cliffs rise dramatically from the riverbanks, creating a stunning backdrop for our journey. We embark on a small boat excursion in the afternoon to explore the enchanting Shennv Stream, situated south of Wu Gorge. Once shrouded in mystery, Shennv Stream has revealed its natural beauty following the creation of the Three Gorges Dam, offering a serene environment with rapid water flowing through narrow gorges. Marvel at the steep, deep rock faces sculpted over millions of years by the flowing rivers, some of which are so tall they obscure the sunlight. An alternative excursion to Shennong Stream may be offered depending on river conditions. An optional excursion to White Emperor City is also available for those seeking further cultural enrichment. Please note that the itinerary is subject to change based on river conditions and cruise company policies. As the day draws to a close, we retire to our deluxe cabins for a peaceful night's rest, reflecting on the wonders we've witnessed along the Yangtze River.

Day 9 | THREE GORGES DAM & FLIGHT TO SHANGHAI (FRIDAY)

Embark on an enlightening journey today as we explore the remarkable Three Gorges Dam, a monumental feat of engineering and innovation. Following our disembarkation at Yichang, we take a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, recognized as the world's largest power station by installed capacity. Beyond its role in electricity generation, the dam serves a crucial function in flood control, a testament to its multifaceted importance. Constructed over a span of 12 years and completed in 2006, the dam site encompasses five parks offering panoramic views of the project and educational insights into hydrology, including the optimal timing for water release. Notably, the dam features a ship lift that significantly reduces transit time through the area, from four hours to a mere 40 minutes, along with an expansive lock system spanning 5,272 feet. An optional tour using a smaller boat to tour the Three Gorges Dam Ship Elevator is available. Cable cars and golf carts are available for a more immersive exploration of the area (a surcharge applies). Following our informative tour, we transfer to the airport for a flight to Shanghai.

Day 10 | SHANGHAI'S KALEIDOSCOPE (SATURDAY)

Immerse yourself in the vibrant charm of modern Shanghai as we embark on a captivating exploration of this dynamic metropolis. Our day begins with a visit to the renowned Shanghai Museum, a cultural institution dedicated to showcasing the rich tapestry of ancient Chinese art. Admire the distinctive architecture of the museum, characterized by its round dome atop a square base, symbolizing the traditional Chinese concept of a round heaven and square earth. Guided by an audio tour, journey through centuries of history as you marvel at the exquisite artifacts on display. Next, we venture to Yu Garden, a tranquil oasis where different natural elements converge to create a miniature world of beauty and serenity. A leisurely stroll along the riverside Bund promenade and Nanjing Road offers insights into Shanghai's mercantile past, with prominent buildings such as the former British and Russian Consulates, the historic Jardine Matheson Company, the iconic Hong Kong and Shanghai Bank, and the esteemed Shanghai Club evoking the city's colorful history.

FAQs

Can I add airfare to the land package?
Yes, you can add airfare to a package. Let us know at the time of your reservation. Please note pricing and availability is always subject to change Prior to ticket issuance.
Can I change my reservation if I've made a mistake?
There is a $75 change fee (per person, per change) for any changes made to a reservation after it has been confirmed.  Any passenger name change made to a booking reservation after it has been confirmed will result in a $100 per person per name change fee and is subject to availability, additional airline change, and/or cancellation fees. Additional fees may apply.  For more details, please contact us.
Can I extend or modify my trip?
We will do our best to accommodate your request. Any modification must be arranged before the deposit is made and subject to availability.
Can I opt-out of certain activities on the trip?
While any unused portion of the trip is non-refundable, you can opt-out of certain included activities if you do not wish to participate in them. Please be sure to notify us prior to your departure date and notify your tour guide upon arrival. You will be responsible for any expenses incurred should you deviate from the tour during the scheduled tour itinerary. If you choose to deviate from the tour group on a day we are transiting from one city to another. You will also be responsible for your own transportation and expenses incurred. 
Can I request adjoining rooms?
We can request adjoining rooms, however, requests cannot be guaranteed as it is based on hotel availability.
Can I select my seats on my flight during the booking process?
Seat assignments on your flight can be done directly via the airline. You can either select your seats at the airline check-in counter on the day of your flight, or after we issue your tickets, you may call the airline directly and pay the fee for pre-assign seats.
Can we book a triple room?
Triple rooms are available upon request for select tours. Please note hotels will provide a rollaway bed for the third traveler in a double room. 
Do you offer and/or suggest travel insurance?
We recommend you purchase a travel protection plan to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected.

How do I make a reservation?

How much time will I get to myself?
Each program is different. Whenever possible, we offer to modify the program to fit your requirements.
I am a solo traveler, can you match me with other solo travelers on my tour?
For privacy reasons, we do not pair solo travelers with one another.  A single supplement fee will apply for solo travelers.
I have special dietary requirements, can you accommodate them?
Meals provided during your tour are based on local cuisine and menus. We can generally assist guests in communicating special meal requests to airlines, hotels, and restaurants but please be aware that they are not guaranteed. Please let us know at the time of booking your trip. We will notify our tour guides of any food allergies, but please note meal alternatives are subject to confirmation as they are based on the availability of the providing restaurant. For those with strict dietary needs, we recommend bringing pre-packaged food alternatives for your trip.
My outbound flight has been cancelled by the airline; what do I do now?
If your flight has been canceled, please liaise with the airline directly to book the next available flight. If, for any reason, you are unhappy with the alternate flight offered by the airline and decide to book a new outbound flight on your own, please note that the original return flight(s) will automatically be canceled if you are a no-show on your original outbound flight.
My package includes the arrival transfer, how do I know when/where to meet up with my driver?
Information on how /where to meet up with your driver is included in your travel documents. On arrival at the airport, please collect your luggage, make your way through customs, and enter the arrivals hall, where the driver will be waiting for you. Should luggage be very slow coming through, or should you have any issues with damaged or lost luggage, please make sure that you complete the necessary documentation within the luggage area. ONE MEMBER of the party should go through customs and into the arrivals hall to advise the driver of the delay. Please note that this person will not be allowed access back into the luggage area. You could also contact our local representative. Extra costs may apply if meeting your driver is delayed more than one hour following your scheduled flight arrival time.  
What are the visa requirements?
Visa requirements for each destination are indicated in our Essential Travel Information on our website. Information is also available at the US Department of State website at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/international-travel.html. It is the responsibility of travelers to obtain proper visas in a timely manner prior to the trip departure date.  
What does Land Only means?
Land-only is a package tour without International and local airfare.
What does per person, double occupancy mean?
Per person, double occupancy means the price each guest pays when sharing a room.
What if I miss my flight or my flight is delayed, and I miss the beginning of my trip?
If your flight is delayed or you miss your flight, please notify us or our local representative (contact information is included in your travel documents) as soon as possible so we may inform our local representative of your updated arrival. Additional costs for airport transfer service may apply if you arrive later than the scheduled arrival date/time.  If you arrive later in the itinerary and the group has moved to a different destination, it will be your responsibility to catch up and meet the group at that destination.  We will provide you with the most up-to-date meeting information.  Please note that Globotours cannot reimburse you for any unused portion of the trip.

What is single supplement surcharge?
Single supplement is the additional cost to occupy the room alone.
What is your payment schedule?
Most packages require a non-refundable deposit, as indicated in the program to confirm the reservation, which will be applied towards the cost of your package. Your account balance is due 60-75 days prior to the trip departure date. Certain tours may require an additional non-refundable airline deposit at the time of booking. This is indicated during the booking process. More information can be found in our Terms and Conditions.  
What level of physical fitness is required for the tour?
Depending on the program, expect a decent amount of walking and an occasional flight of stairs or some steps. We recommend you carefully consider your ability to meet the tour's physical demands. If you have any questions or concerns about your ability to meet the trip's requirements, we urge you to consult your medical practitioner.
What types of payments do you accept?
We accept Mastercard and Visa, bank transfers, and personal checks. When paying your balance by personal check, all checks must be received in full prior to the due date. When do I receive my travel documents and what it will include?
Travel documents will be mailed or e-mailed to you approximately 21 days prior to the trip departure date. It usually takes about 7 – 10 business days. You may access your booking confirmation page anytime by logging into your Globotours account on our website.
